🤔 What Is a Memristor?
Think of a water pipe that remembers how much water has flowed through it — the more current that passes through a memristor, the more its resistance changes, and it retains that state even when powered off. It is the missing fourth fundamental circuit element, joining the resistor, capacitor, and inductor.
Why does this matter? HP Labs built the first memristor in 2008, confirming Leon Chua's 1971 prediction of the fourth circuit element. Memristors enable in-memory computing, eliminating the von Neumann bottleneck. In this simulator, design memristor circuits and observe how resistance changes with current history.
